Storm vs. Canada Moose

1-22-10

Craig Smith

A quiet opening period saw only one goal between both teams and it didn’t come until almost the 18-minute mark of the period. On a power-play, their third one of the game, Deseronto capitalized as Brad Edwards flung one past Moose goalie Andrew Selbie. Travis White and Cam Edwards got the helpers.

In the second the goal lights weren’t getting bright but the whistles were blowing left and right.

Deseronto were called on seven penalties and several times were down by two people. The only good that came out of the second for the Storm was the fact they killed six penalties, unfortunately the Moose scored one goal. Jon Minard from Steve Rigutto and Gianmarco Aiello.  1-1 after forty minutes.

The third period was even quieter than the previous two. Nothing happened until twelve and a half minutes when Brad Edwards went to the box for two. Toronto capitalized. Minard got his second of the night and the Moose were up 2-1. Then a couple minutes later the Storm were on the power-play when Brad Clark tied the game. The Storm would have to kill another penalty when Tyler Poole tripped up a Moose player. They managed to do so and we were tied at the final buzzer.

Overtime came and a mistake from the bench a minute and a half in on the Toronto side. Too many men on the ice and Brandon Booth could do nothing but watch from the box serving the two minutes. Brad Clark was the Storm saviour once again scoring the overtime goal from Cam Edwards and the Storm snuck out on top 3-2.
